Water Hyacinth may range from several inches to as much as 3 feet in height. They have slender rootstocks with rosettes of leaves. The plant's roots are suspended in the water beneath the floating plant.
Air pockets in the bulbous leaves of this plant keep it afloat. Extremely vigorous plant.
One-day-long purple flowers may appear in summer.
