After one winter of use, the unit developed a leak and filled with water. There are no indicators of where the unit is taking in water. It seems to me the unit should last longer than one winter.

We have had a lot of snow which covered the deicer could not find it in the snow but once it was uncovered it did a good job of melting the ice.
