This 50 watt UV clarifier can be added to the Savio SkimmerFilters. Each SkimmerFilter can hold one or two sterilizers. Inserts directly into Savio SkimmerFilter, no plumbing required.
Savio's UVinex UV system uses a coated ultraviolet lamp to avoid the need for fragile quartz sleeves.

If your skimmer was purchased in 2007 or before please read the following:

This UV unit fits in the UV chamber of current models of Savio Full-Size SkimmerFilters as seen in this photo. If your UV chambers look different you will need an adapter plate to make this work. We can provide this adapter at no charge if you let us know it is needed. We will also need to know which side of the skimmer you want the adapter for. The side is determined when standing behind the skimmer facing the pond. If you need this piece, when ordering the UV unit please state in the comments section of the order page "Adapter needed for (Left/Right) side of old-style skimmer."

What is the difference between an ultraviolet sterilizer and an ultraviolet clarifier?

Actually, there is not a difference in the uniimgS themselves, the difference is in the ratings provided for the appropriate pond size and flow rate. By following UV sterilizer ratings the pond should have clear water despite most other conditions and the UV will also be more effective against controlling microscopic pathogens.

A UV clarifier rating typically means that you may not have crystal clear water all the way to the bottom. It also assumes that the pond has good plant coverage (greated than 50%) and adequate biological filtration. When following UV clarifier ratings it is a good idea to oversize the UV to help ensure cleaner water.
