I've used this product for: over 2 years
Comments: The strainer basket works well to prevent debris from entering the pump. Care must be taken to clean the basket often in certain circumstances. We had a neighbor add fresh bark to their yard. A couple days later the wind had blown enough of the bark into our pond that the strainer basket was severely "clogged" with fine bits of bark. Had this happened while we were on vacation the pump could have gone dry and overheated. The solution was to place a large, course, mat filter in our skimmer (upstream).
