This is a mat-type, filter media that combines maximum biological surface area to media volume with generous void space to allow the aeration necessary to nitrifying bacteria. The semi-rigid nylon and polyester construction doesn't compress like filter floss and outlasts both floss and foam. The open design resists clogging. This media can be used in almost any biological filter configuration and will last for years. The material can be cut with scissors to fit any shape filter.
