single sided tape. Thoroughly clean the liner area using
QuickPrime
and an abrasive pad. Wipe clean with a paper towel. Remove
the paper backing and apply the tape being careful to provide
a smooth cover. Roll to provide pressure to all areas of
the tape. Apply Lap
Sealant to the tape edges for the final step and allow
to dry for several hours before contact with water.
How
to find a leak in your pond
Joining Two Liners
Thoroughly clean the liner splice areas with QuickPrime
and an abrasive pad. Wipe clean with a paper towel. Apply the 3"
double sided tape to the top edge of one liner and lay the bottom
edge of the second liner directly on top. Apply the 6" single sided tape
over the exposed edge of the splice with three inches on each side. Roll
to provide pressure to all areas of the tape. Apply lap sealant to both
edges of the 6"
tape for the final step and allow to dry for several hours before
contact with water.
IMPORTANT: For a proper tape adhesion, the liner must be clean
and dry. Also firm pressure is required.
Tips:
- If you don't have a roller, you can use a section of 1-1/2" or 2"
PVC pipe to apply pressure.
- If necessary Naptha can be used in place of the QuickPrime. Although
both Firestone and The Water Garden recommend the QuickPrime.
